SIMTA is a free timer app for iOS, published by OurBeom (아워범), a business
registered in the Republic of Korea. This policy explains what the app collects,
why, and what you can do about it. It covers the iOS app only (App Store ID
6477752878, bundle ID im.oh3vci.SIMTA), not the OurBeom website.
The app has no accounts and no sign-in, no in-app purchases, and no advertising.
1. What the app collects
One thing: Google Analytics for Firebase, used to understand how the app is used in aggregate. The app uses the build of the SDK that does not include the advertising identifier, so no IDFA is collected and no App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown. None of the data below is linked to your identity, and none of it constitutes tracking as Apple defines it.
| What | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| App Instance ID — an identifier assigned automatically to each installation of the app. Not linked to your identity or to any advertising identifier. | Usage statistics | 14 months |
| Approximate location — country or region, derived from a masked IP address. The app does not use iOS Location Services and does not collect precise location. | Usage statistics | 2 months |
| Usage records — app lifecycle events such as screen views and sessions. | Usage statistics | 2 months |
The two retention periods are Google Analytics settings, and they differ because event records and the identifier they are attached to are stored separately. After the period ends, the data is deleted automatically; reports built on aggregate totals are unaffected.
Under the GDPR, the legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in understanding aggregate usage well enough to keep the app working and to decide what to improve. You may object to it at any time; see section 6.
2. What the app does not collect
No account information, name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, payment information, or advertising identifier (IDFA).
3. What stays on your device
Your timer durations, theme colour, and the keep-screen-awake setting are stored
locally in iOS UserDefaults. They are never sent to a server. Deleting the app
deletes them with it.
4. Notifications
The alert when a timer ends is a local notification scheduled on your device. There is no push server, and no device token is collected.
5. Links out of the app
In Settings, Feedback opens your default mail app, Leave a review opens the App Store, and Share opens the iOS share sheet. These are handled by the system; the app sends nothing of its own. If you write to us by mail, your device model, iOS version, and app version are pre-filled in the message body — you can read and edit them before sending.
6. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can write to simpletimerapp@gmail.com about any of the following. We reply within two business days.
One practical note first: because the data above is not linked to your identity, we normally cannot tell which records are yours. If you want us to act on a specific installation, tell us so and we will explain what we would need. Deleting the app removes the App Instance ID from your device; a fresh one is created if you install again, and the old records expire on the schedule above.
- Republic of Korea (PIPA) — you may request access to, correction or deletion of, and suspension of the processing of your personal data. You may also raise a dispute with the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (kopico.go.kr) or report to the Privacy Complaint Centre (privacy.kisa.or.kr, 118).
- European Economic Area and the UK (GDPR) — you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability, and you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
- California (CCPA/CPRA) — you have the right to know what is collected and to request deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising either. We do not sell or share personal information, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months.
7. Who else processes this data
Google, as the provider of Google Analytics for Firebase, processes the data in section 1 on our behalf. It is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising. Google may process it outside your country; Google states that it relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for such transfers.
8. Children
SIMTA is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, write to simpletimerapp@gmail.com and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is published at this same address with a new effective date, and the previous versions stay available from the date menu at the top of the page. The address does not change.
