Proofie is an iOS timestamp camera app made by OurBeom (아워범). This policy sets
out what the app collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers
the iOS app (App Store ID 6809110642, bundle ID com.ourbeom.proofie), not the
OurBeom website.
There are no accounts and no sign-in. Your photos and records stay on your device and never reach us. Only two things leave the app — an enquiry you send yourself, and anonymous usage statistics.
1. What the app collects
Two things — enquiries and usage statistics. What we actually receive is all of the following.
| When | What | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| When you send an enquiry | Email address for our reply (required), the content, attached images (up to 3), enquiry type | To answer the enquiry and to find and fix errors | 3 years |
| When you send an enquiry (automatic) | App version, device operating system and version | To know what environment to reproduce | 3 years |
| When you buy or restore a subscription (automatic) | Transaction receipt information (which plan was bought, purchase and expiry times, whether it renews) and an anonymous identifier used only for purchase records | To keep a record of the purchase and let it carry over to a new device | 5 years after the subscription ends |
| While you use the app (automatic) | Anonymous usage statistics — the type and time of actions taken in the app (for example saving a photo, attempting to share, opening the subscription screen, attempting a purchase or restore), the template and aspect ratio chosen, the subscription plan chosen and whether the purchase or restore succeeded, app version and which kind of build it is (development, test or App Store release), operating system and version, the country, language and time zone set on the device, and one randomly generated identifier per device | To see which features are actually used, so the app can be improved and errors found | 1 year |
The 3-year retention for enquiries is the period the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce sets for records of consumer complaints and dispute handling.
The identifier used in the usage statistics is a random string created the first time the app runs. It is not linked to anything that identifies you, such as a name or contact details. Deleting the app removes it; reinstalling creates a new one.
The kind of build marks how the app was installed — a build still in development, a test distribution such as TestFlight, or the App Store release. It says nothing about you; it is there so that numbers produced while developing and testing can be kept out of the real usage statistics.
The country, language and time zone are settings on your device. They are values you chose on the device, not information that determines where you actually are, and we do not look up the location you connect from (we do not use IP-based geolocation).
Subscription records are kept in two places. Which plan you chose (monthly or yearly) and whether the purchase or restore succeeded are recorded as actions in the usage statistics, and the transaction receipt is kept in RevenueCat, the tool we use to manage purchases. Neither holds payment details, and both are attached only to a randomly generated identifier, so they are not linked to a name or contact details. The 5-year retention for receipts is the period the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce sets for records of payment and supply of goods.
Photos and memos are not in the statistics. For a memo or a place, only whether one was written is recorded; the content is never sent.
We do not use this information for any purpose other than those above. If the purpose changes, we will give notice and obtain consent in advance.
2. What the app does not collect
We do not collect account information, names, phone numbers, addresses, contacts, location data, payment details, or the advertising identifier (IDFA). The app carries no advertising.
We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not do what Apple defines as tracking — linking data with data collected by other companies for targeted advertising — which is why no App Tracking Transparency prompt appears.
Payment for the paid subscription is handled by Apple's App Store. Payment details such as a card number or bank account never reach us, and whether to unlock the paid features is decided by the app checking with the App Store on the device. The fact that a purchase or a restore happened is, however, recorded as described in section 1 — the action in the usage statistics, and the transaction receipt in RevenueCat.
A photo attached to an enquiry is resized and re-saved before it is sent, so metadata from the original such as where it was taken (EXIF) does not go with it.
3. What stays on the device
Photos you take or pick from your library, the records and finished images made from them, memos, categories and places, and your app settings are all stored only on your device. We never receive, keep or view any of it.
They disappear when you delete the app. You can also delete individual records inside the app. Images you saved to your photo library are managed by the iOS Photos app, so those remain after the app is removed.
4. Connections that leave the app
Contact in the settings screen sends its content only when you press send. Terms of Service and Privacy Policy open the same documents on ourbeom.com. Subscription purchase and cancellation are handled by the iOS App Store screens. Saving and sharing are handled by the iOS Photos app and the share sheet; the app sends nothing of its own.
5. Processors and transfers abroad
The providers below process data on our behalf, and their servers are outside the Republic of Korea. Information is transferred over the internet at the moment it is sent. We do not sell personal data.
Each recipient's privacy policy address also serves as its contact point.
| Recipient · Country | What | Purpose · Retention | Contact · Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discord Inc. · United States | Enquiry content, email address, attached images, app and device information | To receive and answer enquiries · 3 years | discord.com/privacy |
| PostHog, Inc. · United States | Anonymous usage statistics | To see which features are used · 1 year | posthog.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat, Inc. · United States | Transaction receipt information, anonymous purchase identifier | To keep and manage purchase records · 5 years after the subscription ends | revenuecat.com/privacy |
Each recipient's privacy policy address also serves as its contact point.
The method of transfer is transmission over the internet at the moment the information is sent. You may refuse the transfer abroad — if you do not use the enquiry feature, no transfer to Discord takes place, and to stop the transfer of usage statistics you can delete the app or write to the address in section 7 and we will take care of it.
We do not provide personal data to any third party other than these two. It may, however, be provided where an investigative authority requires it through lawful procedure under the law.
6. Retention and destruction
Retention periods are those in the table in section 1. Information whose period has passed, or which has served its purpose, is destroyed without delay.
Information in electronic file form is permanently deleted by a method from which it cannot be recovered; anything printed is shredded or incinerated. Where a law requires retention, the information is kept separately from other personal data for that period and then destroyed.
Payment details such as a card number or bank account are kept by Apple; we do not hold them. Transaction receipt information is destroyed 5 years after the subscription ends (the period the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce sets for records of payment and supply of goods).
7. Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us about any of the following at contact@ourbeom.com. We act on the request and tell you the result within 10 days of receiving it.
One practical thing first. The usage statistics are not linked to your identity, so we normally cannot tell which records belong to which person. If you want something done for a specific installation, tell us and we will explain what is needed. Deleting the app removes the identifier from the device, no further data is sent, and anything already sent expires under the retention period above. The photos and records inside the app are not held by us, so deleting them in the app — or deleting the app — completes the deletion.
- Republic of Korea (PIPA) — you may request access to, correction or deletion of, and a halt to the processing of your personal data. You may act through a legal representative or an authorised person, in which case please attach a letter of authority. If we decline a request, we will tell you why and how to object.
- European Economic Area and the United Kingdom (GDPR) — you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
- California (CCPA/CPRA) — you have the right to know what is collected and to request deletion, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information and have not done so in the past 12 months.
Under the GDPR, our legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) both for enquiries — answering them — and for usage statistics — finding errors and improving the app. We do not process the paid subscription.
8. Children under 14
Proofie is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Its App Store age rating is not a children's category.
If we learn that information from a child under 14 has been collected, we destroy it without delay. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, write to contact@ourbeom.com and we will delete it.
9. Security measures
- Photos and records are not kept on a server — information that was never outside cannot leak.
- All outbound communication uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
- Access to the content of enquiries is limited to as few people as possible, and we keep a record of access rights granted, changed and revoked.
- Accounts that handle personal data use two-factor authentication.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is published at this same address with a new effective date, and previous versions stay available from the date menu at the top of the page. The address does not change. We also give notice inside the app, at least 30 days before the effective date where the change is unfavourable to users.
